Yoga tips for all skill levels.

Yoga tips for all skill levels.

For the girls who are not into yoga, you’re doing it wrong! Yoga is much more than a trendy workout routine, as it involves a much deeper philosophy and the health benefits are unmatched. Today you’re going to learn everything you need to know about yoga as I’ve covered all the yoga styles and necessities for those looking to practice this mindy, body, spirit activity in the comfort of your home.

Why Yoga Is Perfect For You

Everyone can practice yoga no matter their age and gender. Yes, that means you, being a full-time or part-time cam girl can and should be doing yoga. Trust me, you’ll thank me later. Since the basics of yoga include deep muscle stretches, it’s excellent for staying in shape and honing sexy muscles, which can be particularly important for people working from home. Freelancers, people sitting down for long hours, and even cam girls, need to stay fit and this will help.

Yep, when you think about it, any type of whole-body workout that you can do at home to stay in shape is worth trying, as there could be only positive benefits. All that said, we are not doctors, yoga masters, ninjas or personal trainers, and the following is meant to inform you only. Be sure to ask your doctor before starting any physical training regimen. Now that we got the disclosure out of the way, let’s continue on to the good stuff.

Types of Yoga Styles

Yoga is both a mental and physical challenge, and it’s beneficial for stress relief, clearing the head, relaxing, and improving overall wellness. There are several different types of yoga; all emphasize different aspects and can vary in terms of levels of difficulty. Here’s a rundown on the types of yoga you can do in order to reap tremendous benefits for years to come.

Ashtanga

Ashtanga yoga is a type of yoga focused on a specific series of poses. There are five asana (pose) series in Ashtanga, and the student starts by practicing and mastering every asana in the series before moving to the next series. This type of workout initially looks simple, but it involves holding a pose for a long time while breathing deeply, and believe me, it involves sweating and toning every muscle in the body.

Bikram

Bikram yoga involves two breathing exercises and 26 poses. The room where Bikram yoga is practiced gets heated to 105 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius), and the yoga routine involves 45 minutes of standing poses and 45 minutes of floor poses. Bikram yoga aims to provide a full-body workout, detox the body through extensive sweating, and mental challenge to withstand the intense conditions.

Kundalini

Kundalini yoga combines several yoga styles that involve asanas, chants, breathwork, mantras, mudras, and meditation. The Kundalini yoga workouts focus on igniting the kundalini energy deriving from the Root chakra at the base of the spine, transforming and connecting the spirit and the self. The Kundalini workout leaves the body refreshed and inspired, and it is usually recommended one wear white to a kundalini yoga class to extend the aura.

Power Vinyasa

Power Vinyasa yoga is done at a fast pace, and the class lasts between 60 and 90 minutes, done in a heated room. The asanas are vigorous and challenging, providing a whole-body workout. The idea behind Power Vinyasa is to move fluidly between asanas and connect breathing to movement. There is no set sequence of asanas, making this a stimulating and challenging workout.

Hatha

Hatha is an amalgamation of different yoga styles and is the most famous one today. The Hatha yoga workout consists of breathing exercises and asanas that improve flexibility and strength. During the workout, the mind should focus on alignment of the body and deep breathing, centering the mind and the body. Because of its gentle transition between poses, Hatha is best suited for yoga beginners.

Iyengar

Iyengar yoga focuses on combining asanas and pranayama (breath control) but involves props to help the body get in the pose. The props can be harnesses, straps, incline boards, or blocks that support the body while you try to get into a perfectly aligned pose and control your breath.

Yin or Taoist Yoga

Taoist yoga is the oldest type of yoga, and it does not focus on the muscles but instead focuses on the connective tissues like collagen. In this type of yoga, the body relaxes into the poses, and these are held for a long time, between three and five minutes, each one focusing on a different body part. Yin or Taoist yoga focuses on the joints, spine, and sacrum, and many use it to prepare for a deeper state of meditation, as it helps release stored emotions and exude toxins from the body.

Restorative

Restorative yoga aims to provide body restoration and stress relief. The poses in restorative yoga use props like blankets, blocks, or bolsters, and the asanas are held for more extended periods while focusing on breathing and alignment. Restorative yoga practitioners say they feel calmer, rejuvenated, and well-stretched after a session, which helps the body stay in shape.

Where Can You Practice Yoga

The beauty of yoga is that you don’t need any specialized room with equipment, but you only need enough room to lie down, and you are set. It can be done in your living room or any other room in your house you have the space in, and you are comfortable. Heck, you might consider doing yoga in your cam room as well.

We are talking here about the more basic yoga styles for beginners because not all yoga styles allow you to do them in your home (unless you have the option to heat a room to 104 degrees and practice Bikram yoga). You can start on your living room floor, roll your yoga mat, and you are set to begin your asanas.

Still, it is recommended for more advanced yoga practitioners to have a dedicated space where the room itself will promote relaxation and be visually pleasing. If you check out many of the YouTube videos on yoga, you will notice that many of them are shot in a living room or backyard.

What You Need To Do Yoga At Home

One of the best things about practicing yoga is that you don’t need anything expensive, fancy, or over the top to begin. You only need a decent yoga mat, a pair of stretchy leggings, and a tank top for starters. Because all the workouts involve doing the asanas either standing or on the ground, you should invest in a high-quality yoga mat, and you will be ready to begin.

When looking to begin a yoga regime but unsure which type would be good for you, you can visit a yoga studio and consult with a yogini, a yoga teacher. But if you are in a position where it is impossible to do this, you can check out online yoga classes and even start doing yoga on your own. YouTube is an excellent source of info, as there are many YouTube channels devoted to all sorts of yoga, with instructions on the asanas, breathing techniques, and much more.

Here is a list of YouTube channels devoted to yoga that would suit anyone’s needs:

What Type Of Yoga Mat To Get

The essential thing you will need when doing yoga is a quality yoga mat. We are not trying to sell you anything but to educate you on the essential things you need to look for in a quality yoga mat that will last you for years.

Material

The material from which the yoga mat is made dictates the texture, the stickiness, and how much it withstands pressure. Also, the material predetermines how the yoga mat will last.

The standard yoga mats are made from PVC or vinyl. There are, however, yoga mats made from eco-friendly materials like recycled rubber, jute, organic cotton, and the like.

From all the materials yoga mats are made of, the ones made from PVC last longer and have better sponginess – meaning they have a good amount of “give” and provide good cushioning.

Thickness

The thickness of the mat is what protects your body from the hard floor and provides cushioning. The most common thicknesses are ¼ to 1/8 inch thick, with travel mats being 1/16 inch thick to fold easily and take with you while traveling. If you are not going to travel with your yoga mat and storing it is not an issue, you can get a thick premium yoga mat that will provide good backing from the hard floor.

Texture

The texture of the yoga mat is what provides traction and prevents your feet and body from slipping and sliding while you try to hold the asana.

But the texture also plays a role in comfortability, so you should opt for a mat that you find comfortable lying on. The texture depends on the material, with PVC ones offering the most smoothness and versatility and jute ones having the roughest surfaces.

Stickiness

The stickiness of a yoga mat is doubly important – it sticks to the surface you put it on, and your feet stick to it, preventing sliding and injuries.

Due to the nature of the material, PVC yoga mats have the highest stickiness. Still, the stickiness decreases as the mat gets dirty, so make sure you keep your mat clean and wash it before you use it.

Price

The price is almost always a significant factor when deciding on a purchase, and it is the same with yoga mats. The 1/8 inch thick solid color PVC mat is among the cheapest options, while the eco-friendly mats made from organic materials tend to be more expensive.

The designs, logos, patterns, antimicrobial treatments, textures, and raised tactile patterns significantly raise the price of the yoga mats. You should think about hitting Amazon, Target, and Ross or the local Home Goods for yoga mats if you’re looking for a good deal.
